Only Angels Gaze Toward Heaven
Born into humble beginnings, Jordan Del Cielo is given a second chance when his formerly absent father takes him to America. Growing up in California, his Christian faith compels him to use his talents to serve others. Yet, deep down, he is filled with self-doubt. Becoming a member of Doctors Without Borders, he only lacks one thing—a soul mate.
Saul Darthe, on the other hand, has only one goal—to rise to the top of the graft pyramid. Saul, a previous collegiate wrestling champion, becomes cynical and directs all his strength and passion into the pursuit of wealth and power. He couldn’t care less who he uses to get to the top.
Jordan eventually meets Miriam, the woman of his dreams. They are content but unable to conceive. Eventually, their near-perfect life comes crashing down after they become unknowingly involved in Darthe's plot to smuggle secret advanced technology.
A tragic accident occurs, but this doesn't stop Darthe. Chinese organized crime also wants the technology, so the battle is set. Jordan and Miriam have no idea why their lives are being torn apart, yet uncanny “miracles” seem to keep stitching them back together.
An adopted son brings hope, but Jordan must overcome his demons. He finds evidence that his wife may not be who he thinks she is. Depressed, he turns to drugs and alcohol.
After being rescued from near death, Jordan must save his family from the harrowing criminal conspiracy. After a wild chase in the mountains of Santa Barbara, a final confrontation will decide their fate.
Only Angels Gaze Toward Heaven is a captivating, philosophical thriller about the complex ways our beliefs form our identities, the loneliness brought on by loss, and how, if we let them, small “miracles” can lead to timeless connections and virtuous love.
